Recently, a reader asked if I could create a roundup post of my favorite bloggers who publish monthly income reports.
I thought this was a great idea, as there are a ton of amazing bloggers out there who are kind enough to share how much they make from blogging (and other related services) each month.
As a little refresher: Every month I publish a monthly online income report. I publish these monthly income reports for many reasons.
Before I started blogging, I knew nothing about side hustling and making money online. I didn’t think side hustles were worth the time, and I thought the only way to really increase your income was through your day job through raises and promotions. If it weren’t for others publishing their monthly income reports each month, I don’t know if I would have ever attempted side hustling. I want to help others see the positives in side hustling and how it can change your life.
I also like to publish my income reports each month because it is a great way for me to reflect on the previous month, learn from any mistakes I may have made, and to also see what areas I need to start working harder in.
I believe these two reasons are why a lot of other bloggers choose to share their monthly earnings as well. It’s a great motivator and it shows that you can actually make money doing something that you enjoy.

EDIT July, 2016: I recommend checking out my online course for bloggers, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. I earn over $50,000 a month through affiliate marketing and I share my exact strategy and tips in this very informative online course. If you’re a blogger, then you NEED this course.!
Smart Passive Income
SPI publishes one of my favorite income reports each month. He makes a crazy amount of money. When I say crazy, I mean it. He makes around $80,000 to $90,000 each MONTH through his blog and related services that he offers.
Pat was laid off in 2008 and I think it was probably a good thing to happen to him. He was able to put more time towards his blog and it all grew quickly from there.
You can find Pat’s monthly income reports here.
Club Thrifty
Holly is a good blog friend of mine, and I enjoy reading her income reports each month. She left her day job a little before I did and she gave me a lot of motivation towards leaving my day job.
Holly made a little less than $12,000 last month through her online endeavors. She writes all over the place for several big websites and makes most of her income that way, I believe.
You can find Holly’s latest income report here.
Budgeting in the Fun Stuff
Crystal is the main reason for why I started to seek outside income in my life. Her income reports were one of the very first I ever read. Her income report used to be published on her blog, but she now only sends them out through her newsletter.
Retire By 40
Like Budgeting in the Fun Stuff, the owner of Retire by 40 only publishes his income report to his newsletter. This is another newsletter I highly recommend you follow.
Beat The 9 To 5
This blogger publishes a diversified monthly income report. He includes dividends, capital gains, website income, income from flipping websites, and more. He makes several thousand dollars each month, but last month he made nearly $14,000 with the help from the sale of a website of his. WOOHOO!
Pinch of Yum
Pinch of Yum is a website I love. Lindsay posts income reports each month, but she mainly publishes food-related posts that always look extremely yummy. Lindsay used to be a teacher but left her teaching job to blog full-time.
This website (and her related services) makes around $20,000 to $30,000 each month!
You can find Pinch of Yum’s latest monthly income report here.
Matthew Woodward
Matt is another blogger who provides a very detailed income report each month. One thing I love about his is that he makes a decent amount of money from several different affiliates. This is something I need to work on.
Matt makes a little less than $20,000 online each month.
You can find Matt’s online income reports here.
Do you enjoy reading income reports? Why or why not? Do you find them motivating like I do?
If you are interested in starting a blog, I created an easy-to-use tutorial that will help you start a blog of your own for cheap, starting at only $3.49 per month (this low price is through my link only) for blog hosting. In addition to the low pricing, you will receive a free blog domain (a $15 value) through my Bluehost link if you purchase at least 12 months of blog hosting. FYI, you want/need to be self-hosted if your website is used for freelancing purposes or if you want to make money blogging.

I love reading income reports from bloggers – I read most of these, bar one you’ve mentioned. I find them both inspiring and motivating, as it makes me think that maybe I can do it too! Maybe one day anyway 🙂 I love how transparent these people are too and how honest they are about their online income, you included!
Thanks NIcola!
I like reading how other bloggers created eranings from their blog, is good the fact they share monthly giving suggestions to other that would like to do the same
Thanks! Do you currently make any extra money?
I often don’t read people’s income reports because it’s usually “I made so much money” but leaves out HOW – the exact how anyway.
I’m a blogging newbie and I know I shouldn’t expect to actually make money from my blog just yet, but it’s important to my goal of paying off debt AND staying home that my blogging endeavors earn something! I’m in awe of the people who are making such great blogging incomes and I’ll admit to being jealous.
On the other hand, reading an occasional income report or a roundup like this can be incredibly motivating.
I know what you mean. I don’t detail the exact ways I make money in my income report each time, mainly because it’s already been described in several past posts of mine.
And don’t think I haven’t been poking around trying to read everything you’ve written on the subject! 😉 you do a great job with details. Lots of others with income reports leave things very generic.
Yay I’m glad you think I’m detailed! I receive so many emails from people asking me to be more detailed and I’m not sure how I can be any more detailed. I have tons of posts on this subject 🙂
Michelle,
I’m new to your site as well as a newbie blogger. Sorry if the answers are obvious in your previous posts, but what was the first thing you did that made a dollar? What was the gateway to making this happen for you?
If you’ve already written about this, can you direct me to an earlier post? Like many, I’ve tried my hand but still don’t get over the hump of that first dollar. I feel I can learn how to “scale” it once I can make it past that first hurdle. Thoughts?
Thanks for posting your income reports, as well as the mentions you have here.
I made my first $100 from an advertisement on my blog. A blog friend of mine referred me to a client of hers and the rest is history 🙂
Wow! I’m always blown away by how much money people make blogging–it’s certainly inspiring. Now if I could just monetize Frugal Hound…. 😉
Yes, it’s definitely very inspiring! 🙂
Mrs. Frugalwoods, I’m surprised that your blog isn’t making money yet as I’m very inspired by your blog and I think it’s wonderful. You and Making Sense of Cents are one of my favorites:) I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.
Aww thanks Yvette 🙂 I agree, she has a great blog!
I love Pinch of Yum, and that includes Bjork’s income reports! What they do with that money is inspiring too 🙂
Yes, they are amazing!
I would say I like reading income reports but they don’t do that much for me. I’m big on improving yourself based on comparing yourself to yourself, not based on other people. But, sometimes it does help just a little bit to see what’s possible.
Yes, I definitely think it’s helpful to see what is possible. It gives me motivation to read them.
I love reading income reports. It helps me understand what’s possible.
Same here!
I absolutely love Pinch of Yum!
I do too!
Welcome 🙂
Just reading income reports doesn’t help , let me know how exactly this much money is earned by these bloggers, tell me the ways if you have understood clearly
I have included links to their income reports and you can read more there.
I have followed Smart Passive Income! There are a few others here I would like to look into. At this point, I’d be happy to make $100;0)
I definitely think you can make $100 one day 🙂
I love income reports because it gives me hope. While I don’t ever think I’ll achieve quite *that* much money in one month, an extra $1,000 a month wouldn’t hurt. 🙂 These give me hope that if someone can make $12,000+ in a single month, I should be able to make $1,000 without selling my soul.
Yes, you can definitely make $1,000 each month without selling your soul. I have faith in you! 🙂
Holy Toledo! That is crazy money! I had no idea …
Yes, I can only dream of making $80,000 one month! 🙂
Thanks! Yes, lots of great bloggers right here 🙂
Thanks James!
I actually am not a fan of monthly income reports. I have yet to see a single one that actually goes into enough detail that gives people practical takeaways. It’s unfortunate as I think it would be a good opportunity for people to share exactly how they make their money versus giving everyone high level buckets.
Not a slam on you, just not a fan of them in general for the reasons I described.
Aww that makes me sad that you think that DC. I usually find them detailed enough to get a good picture.
