Recently, a reader asked if I could create a roundup post of my favorite bloggers who publish monthly income reports.

I thought this was a great idea, as there are a ton of amazing bloggers out there who are kind enough to share how much they make from blogging (and other related services) each month.

As a little refresher: Every month I publish a monthly online income report. I publish these monthly income reports for many reasons.

Before I started blogging, I knew nothing about side hustling and making money online. I didn’t think side hustles were worth the time, and I thought the only way to really increase your income was through your day job through raises and promotions. If it weren’t for others publishing their monthly income reports each month, I don’t know if I would have ever attempted side hustling. I want to help others see the positives in side hustling and how it can change your life.

I also like to publish my income reports each month because it is a great way for me to reflect on the previous month, learn from any mistakes I may have made, and to also see what areas I need to start working harder in.

I believe these two reasons are why a lot of other bloggers choose to share their monthly earnings as well. It’s a great motivator and it shows that you can actually make money doing something that you enjoy.

EDIT July, 2016: I recommend checking out my online course for bloggers, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. I earn over $50,000 a month through affiliate marketing and I share my exact strategy and tips in this very informative online course. If you’re a blogger, then you NEED this course.!

Smart Passive Income

SPI publishes one of my favorite income reports each month. He makes a crazy amount of money. When I say crazy, I mean it. He makes around $80,000 to $90,000 each MONTH through his blog and related services that he offers.

Pat was laid off in 2008 and I think it was probably a good thing to happen to him. He was able to put more time towards his blog and it all grew quickly from there.

You can find Pat’s monthly income reports here.

Club Thrifty

Holly is a good blog friend of mine, and I enjoy reading her income reports each month. She left her day job a little before I did and she gave me a lot of motivation towards leaving my day job.

Holly made a little less than $12,000 last month through her online endeavors. She writes all over the place for several big websites and makes most of her income that way, I believe.

You can find Holly’s latest income report here.

Budgeting in the Fun Stuff

Crystal is the main reason for why I started to seek outside income in my life. Her income reports were one of the very first I ever read. Her income report used to be published on her blog, but she now only sends them out through her newsletter.

Retire By 40

Like Budgeting in the Fun Stuff, the owner of Retire by 40 only publishes his income report to his newsletter. This is another newsletter I highly recommend you follow.

Beat The 9 To 5

This blogger publishes a diversified monthly income report. He includes dividends, capital gains, website income, income from flipping websites, and more. He makes several thousand dollars each month, but last month he made nearly $14,000 with the help from the sale of a website of his. WOOHOO!

Pinch of Yum

Pinch of Yum is a website I love. Lindsay posts income reports each month, but she mainly publishes food-related posts that always look extremely yummy. Lindsay used to be a teacher but left her teaching job to blog full-time.

This website (and her related services) makes around $20,000 to $30,000 each month!

You can find Pinch of Yum’s latest monthly income report here.

Matthew Woodward

Matt is another blogger who provides a very detailed income report each month. One thing I love about his is that he makes a decent amount of money from several different affiliates. This is something I need to work on.

Matt makes a little less than $20,000 online each month.

You can find Matt’s online income reports here.

Do you enjoy reading income reports? Why or why not? Do you find them motivating like I do?

If you are interested in starting a blog, I created an easy-to-use tutorial that will help you start a blog of your own for cheap, starting at only $3.49 per month (this low price is through my link only) for blog hosting. In addition to the low pricing, you will receive a free blog domain (a $15 value) through my Bluehost link if you purchase at least 12 months of blog hosting. FYI, you want/need to be self-hosted if your website is used for freelancing purposes or if you want to make money blogging.

I follow Smart Passive Income and Club Thirfty – both excellent blogs. And of course, your blog 🙂

Thanks for the other suggestions; I’ll have to check them out.

  2. Lakshmi @ Thenaircouple.com

Thanks for sharing these, I actually follow Holly’s blog and she did reach that new plateau of 12k last month. I make about $150 from my blog per month. I am one of the smaller bloggers and that’s only from Adsense.

  3. Anne @ Money Propeller

I love income reports, especially pat’s and bjork’s, for the details and the teachings in them. I’m trying to detail my wins and my failures with mine. I was only publishing them to my newsletter, buy I just changed my mind this week.

  4. Gretchen

I’ll definitely have to check these out, as most of them are new to me! I just love income reports, half because they’re kind of voyeuristic, talking about a taboo topic and giving me a peek inside someone’s life, but also because they’re inspiring, especially yours Michelle!

  5. Jon @ Penny Thots

Thanks for sharing!! I’ve never heard of some of these blogs.

I definitely get motivated by reading these reports. It forces me to dig deeper into their sites and posts to try to learn from their successes and failures.

  6. Rachel

Thank you for answering my question! Now I have a few new ones to follow 🙂

      Welcome Rachel 🙂

  7. Tim Seidler

I love income reports. So interesting to see what people in different niches make and what makes them successful. I’m a huge fan of telling people how much I make and hearing their reaction.

  8. DNN

This is a good thing to know, because many people today are still unsure about blogging and how powerful it can be when it comes to making money online full-time. How long did it take you to get serious traffic to this blog after you launched it?

  9. Sky

Hi! I’ve always been really interested in blogging, I just haven’t the slightest idea where to begin! Do you have any tips?

  10. Misty

Thank you so much. This is such an inspiration, My intention of making a blog was to start releasing some of these pregnancy hormones and rant and rave. But I am really impressed by this collection of bloggers. Hope I can be there one day.

  11. Heather Lynn

Thank you so much for sharing your monthly reports, as well as some of your favs to follow!
My story is a little different, when it comes to making $ online…
3 years ago, I broke my foot. Which is no big deal, right?! That’s what I thought at the time… But unfortunately, the break caused me to develop a health condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) aka Regional Sympathetic Dystrophy. It’s a progressive condition, with no cure. And it’s recorded to be the most painful health conditions known to mankind… At 24yrs old, I had to stop working (at a brand new dream job), and move back in with my parents.
Three years later, at 27, the only thing that’s changed is the severity of the condition.. And the huge amount of debt I’m in bc of medical bills.

I figure, if I’m able to make even a couple hundred a month, I’d be able to at least help pay medical expenses. But if I was able to start making around the same as you, or any of the above? The words “Life Changing” would be an understatement!

So thank you for putting yourself out there, by sharing your information! 🙂
It’s a great “guide” and an inspiration.

Just WOW at some of those figures for earning ‘on the side’ i thought i was doing a good job with £500 a month from online stuff lol! I will progress no doubt in time. Health issues stop me doing a lot but i’m happy ticking along earning a bit extra atm 😉

Thank you for this! Soooo inspiring! I’m hoping to make an extra $2k per month from my blog. I know it’s going to be a long journey but I hope it pays off! PS- I love your blog.
