I have always been a big fan of Reddit’s Ask Me Anything threads, and then recently, I saw that Steve published an Ask Me Anything on his blog. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to decide to do one of these. But, here it is, and I hope you think it’s going to be as fun as I do!
Ask Me Anything is literally that – you can ask me anything. If you’re struggling to figure out what to ask, here are a few of the topics you may want to know more about:
- Personal finance
- Blogging
- My life
- Travel
- RVing
- Being location independent
- Business
- Making extra money
- How much candy I eat on a daily basis
- My favorite TV show
- Questions about my dogs
And so on, and so on.
Seriously, ask me anything in the comments below, and I will take the time to answer every single one. Of course, please nothing inappropriate or creepy. I’ll let you be the judge of what is creepy, I guess, haha!
All right, go for it, ask away!
P.S. If you’re looking to see all of the comments and questions, make sure to hit “Older Comments” or “Newer Comments” below. The comments break apart in pages once there are over 50 comments.

I’m almost ready to start my blog but I need to create some printable freebies, what software do you use to create yours? I’m probably going to do several so I’m looking for the easiest on my Mac.
I use a designer to create all of mine.
Hey Michelle,
Funny story! I gave up on my blog after 3 months about a year ago. I finally got around to unsubscribing to all your stuff about a week ago. I’ve been inspired again and now I’m back! Hehe!
So my question is- do you believe that there is still opportunity for people to make money starting new blogs? Even blogs covering topics that have already been done and redone (ex: travel, mommy blogs, fitness, etc)?
Thank you for your insight & all your amazing resources!! Glad to be back!
Yes, there is room for everyone. It’s all about creating high quality content.
Hi Michelle,
I love your blog and the courses you provide.
How do you know if your blog post content is high-quality? Did you take any courses to help with this?
Any helpful courses for making E-courses and E-books?
Do you have any resources for growing your business with employees (how to manage and systems to pay them)?
Thank you!
Sierra
Hi Michelle,
Would your recommend using “SEM Rush” for keywords when you are getting started? Is it worth the price when you are new.
Thanks,
Damn Millennial
Happy Thursday!
Okay, first serious question because you are a wealth of knowledge.
Currently, I work an 8-5 salaried state job, and my husband is freelance. In the near future I will have the opportunity to quit and travel on some jobs with him for upwards of a year. I am hoping during this time I will be able to replace my current income with blogging so that after this year I won’t have to go back to the traditional job… my biggest question is about health insurance, how did you go about finding a solid company that also covers you and your husband, including while you are abroad?
Okay now for something about you personally,
What famous person (dead or alive) would you like to sit next to on a 10-hour flight and why?
Cheers,
So I’ve been following you for so long and have been debating on taking the course but never did till I finally got the courage and actually started my own blog. I picked my name, paid for it from go daddy, followed your tips and used blue host, then I created it and designed it best I could. It has only been maybe 2 months and I don’t really have visitors and not as many blogs post as I’d like but I’m still getting the hang of it but now I need to learn more about affiliate marketing but if I’m not getting visitors yet will this course still be good for me? Seems like this is only great for people who have an influx of visitors on their blogs. What do you think? I need help because I plan on traveling next year and need this blog to work so I can pay for my travels and blog about it as I do. Hope you can help me 🙂
Hello!
Thank you for your comment. There are many brand new bloggers and those who don’t even have a blog who are taking the course. By taking Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, you can learn a lot about the correct way to blog and monetize, which many students have found super helpful.
How do you “work the business” of blogging and all your social media to earn an income? What is your schedule like?
Hey Maggie!
Can you explain more what you mean by “work the business?”
An average day for us varies greatly. On travel days, Wes will handle everything related to the RV and I take care of the dogs. We usually limit our travel days to around 250 miles in the RV.
We usually move the RV after about a week to around one month. Still, there have been cases in which we loved an area so much that we have stayed for longer. Other cases, we may just stay for a day or two.
Work schedule-wise, that varies as well. I usually work a little in the morning (such as by answering emails), I’ll explore and do something outside for the daylight hours, and then I work again at night time.
I am curious how your stress level is today concerning your business, work/life balance, etc? I read that you only have 2 part-time people helping you out and that you deal with all your emails and I can only guess. You are only one person and as a successful business owner myself, I wouldn’t be where I am today with help and a team that helps me on a day-to-day basis…….but having said that owning your own business is still stressful. Thanks in advance for your reply and for being a great, transparent role model to many, including myself 😄
Hey Nicole!
I have three part-time people now, but I’m also good at managing tasks and my to-do list 🙂
Fantastic, thanks for taking the time to reply 👍🏻
It’s interesting that you and your husband live in an RV. How do you get your snail mail? Do you have a regular parking place near a post office?
We belong to a mail forwarding company, called My Dakota Address. All of our mail gets sent there, and then this company forwards our mail to wherever we are.
Hi Michelle, am so much excited about your blog income that you publish. please how do I start blogging and I don’t know anything about blogging, please can you help
Hi Michelle
I am writing to find out if you have any Pinterest course that you can recommend
HI Michelle.
What steps did you take to build your brand?
What stumbling blocks did you encounter along the way?
When did you get their big break with MSOC?
Hi Michelle. Could I start blogging on my Android phone? I am thinking of using the computer at the public library as wellAny tips, suggestions. Much appreciated. Thank you so much.
I think it would be difficult to blog with a phone. I’m sure it’s been done though.
Hi Michelle,
What is a typical blogging day for you? What do you do, I’m one who follows steps. I ask because I want to be successful and your day is what makes you successful.
Thank you so much for this!
Hello!
You can learn a little about this here in a few different sections – https://fund-rise.live/2018/04/making-money-from-a-blog.html%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
My day varies pretty much every single day. Sometimes I don’t work, other days I work (well, most days, haha). And then I just tackle whatever is on my to do list. I don’t have a strict schedule or do the same things every day.
Hi Michelle!
Would you recommend starting out (with a new blog) with lots of posts, or would you recommend limiting the posts to a lower number with great content, and spend more time on marketing? I’m not sure if I should try to post everyday or should I just try to do one or 2 per week with great content and better marketing?
Thanks so much!
I don’t think it really matters, as a new blog won’t have a ton of readers anyways.
